Ashley Fulmer, APR – Director of Public Relations

Ashley Fulmer, APR brings a wealth of public relations experience to Wilbanks Agency. Prior to joining the firm, she was the Public Relations Director for Style Advertising, Inc. in Birmingham where she handled all public relations activities for all company accounts. She was awarded several Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA) Medallion Awards for her work, including five top state Medallion awards, as well as two Awards of Excellence (runner up) awards for “Writing for Public Relations”.

She has been on the PRCA Birmingham Board of Directors for five years and currently serves as its Accreditation Chair. Additionally, she serves as APR Chair for the State Board of PRCA, Media Chair for local charity organization Laps for CF, Public Relations Director for Sidewalk Film Festival and was a past board member for Catalyst of Birmingham. In her spare time, she is also a volunteer at Children’s Hospital.

Prior to working with Style, she was employed with the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Athletic Department as Community Relations Coordinator where she was primarily in charge of the motivational children’s program, Blazer Classroom Connection. She’s had additional experience in public relations and marketing with the UAB Creative and Marketing Group, Concepts Public Relations and The Economic Development Partnership of Alabama.

Ashley graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2001 with a degree in Mass Communications. In April 2007, she received the distinction Accredited in Public Relations (APR), a professional accreditation for public relations professionals who demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to its ethical practice and who are selected based on broad knowledge, strategic perspective and sound professional judgment. Additionally, she was named a Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) Senior Practitioner in 2009, an honor bestowed by peers recognizing veteran public relations professionals with high ethical standing.
