Sanders Trust starts $12M Indiana medical office project

The Sanders Trust has started building a $12 million medical office in Valparaiso, Ind., according to a press release.

The office is part of Birmingham-based Sanders Trust’s strategic plan to add $100 million to its portfolio this year by acquiring and building medical facilities.

Sanders Trust also acquired the HealthSouth Corp. (NYSE: HLS) Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital in Las Vegas for $17 million earlier this year.

Birmingham-based Robins & Morton is scheduled to finish the 60,000-square-foot building on the Community Health System’s (NYSE: CHS) new Porter Hospital campus in late 2012.

Gresham Smith & Partners is the architect on the project.
